Find the best Duplex Stainless Steel stockist and supplier in India

Stainless steel is the most common metal used in kitchens and bathrooms all over the world. It has many properties that make it useful, such as heat resistance, non-toxicity, and ease of maintenance. It can be found in everything from cups to cabinets, appliances to faucets, making it ideal for nearly any application you can think of. But where do you find the best quality stainless steel products? How do you choose which supplier or stockist to work with? The following guide will help you navigate the world of stainless steel products in India and find the best option for your needs!

Types of Duplex Stainless Steel

Duplex Steel Circles are a new improved version of a Duplex Steel Square. It’s superior due to its increased strength, while maintaining its ductility, malleability, and stainless qualities. The addition of Chromium increases hardness which makes it more wear resistant and suited for applications requiring tools. These circles have excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, rusting, or pitting even when used with mild steel or cast iron at full contact pressures. This can be attributed to its high chromium content which has a tendency to form an invisible chromium oxide protective layer on its surface as well as being heat treated.

Uses of Duplex stainless steel

You can find Duplex Steel Circles used for decorative or industrial purposes. For example, a piece of stainless steel is often formed into an octagon to create a salad bar or serving countertop. These types of counters are easy to clean because they’re smooth on all sides. When it comes to structural projects, these circles can be made into girders. The metal is strong enough to stand up under heavy pressure while also remaining corrosion-resistant. Even when you consider its cost, duplex steel is still less expensive than similar high-grade materials like titanium and carbon fiber. This makes it one of the most popular options for people who need high strength levels but aren’t willing to pay a premium price tag.

Advantages of using duplex stainless steel

The duplex stainless steel is a solid solution to today’s design challenges. It solves two problems at once: it gives designers greater material flexibility while providing better performance than 18/8 stainless steel. The result is a stronger, lighter-weight material that offers enhanced corrosion resistance compared to other stainless steels.

Before we discuss about Ferralium 255 Round Bar, let us know how is duplex stainless steel different from normal SS? In general terms duplex stainless steel has to chromium content of 15% or more, which makes it 30% stronger than conventional high carbon martensitic (ferritic) steels. But its strength is also its Achilles heel, because if excessive load is applied without regular inspections for surface cracking, you could have a catastrophic failure. Most duplex grades are more resistant to cracking from heavy surface defects than high chromium martensitic (ferritic) grades but not all will tolerate small cracks so it pays to check with a reputable dealer who can advise on suitability.

Heat treatment duplex stainless steel, austenitic, ferritic

Ferralium 255 is duplex stainless steel with 8% chromium, 18% nickel. It has good corrosion resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and erosion corrosion. Mechanical properties are good including high strength and hardness. Ferralium 255 round bar is suitable for mould manufacture of chemical industry, boiler equipment. Large Ferralium 255 round bar size is used to make parts of pump impeller or spray arm in barber shop.

Types of duplex stainless steel SS 304 SS 316 STAINLESS STEEL 304L STAINLESS STEEL 316L

Ferralium 255 round bar is also known as grade 304L, it is a high-performance low-alloy austenitic stainless steel. Ferralium 255 SS bar has 18 percent chromium content and 9.5 percent nickel content. This material is resistant to acids and chloride media at both high or low temperatures. It has excellent toughness, tensile strength, and hot/cold workability. This material offers corrosion resistance for some food processing applications and can be welded by conventional methods. The addition of molybdenum provides improved resistance to pitting corrosion from chlorides at elevated temperatures (above 140°F). For chemical service, duplex grades are slightly more susceptible than type 304 stainless steels but are generally more resistant than grades 303 and 316.
