In vitro fertilization reimbursement

Fertility services and treatments are rarely covered by insurance. However, your insurance may cover some of the medications prescribed to you. It would help if you asked your insurance company specific questions about your fertility drug coverage.

  1. Does the insurance company cover all fertility drugs?
  2. Is the coverage 100%, 80%…?
  3. Is there maximum coverage for fertility drugs?
  4. Is this a maximum per year? For a lifetime?

The cost of fertility drugs used as part of an IVF cycle can be as high (if not more) than the services and treatments themselves if you don’t have coverage. If you want the insurance company to answer questions about specific medications, you must provide them with the Drug Identification Number (DIN) for each medication.
